On Friday, September 29, approximately 30 George Mason University students met at the IRS Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI) headquarters in Washington, D.C., for the IRS Citizen Academy.

Shohdi was one of four Mason students chosen for an internship in the U.S. Navy’s Financial Management and Comptroller (FM&C) Office this summer.

Originally from Germany, Katja Manthei was introduced to Mason when she worked in Arlington as an au pair. Here, she shares her experiences as an international student and Fulbright Scholar in Mason’s Master’s in Management program.

Each year, selected business schools can nominate up to two students for the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) Scholars Program. For another consecutive year, both of the nominees from the George Mason University School of Business were selected for scholarships.

Fabrizzio Ramirez, a current graduate student pursuing a Master’s in Real Estate Development, shares his thoughts about his experiences at George Mason University as an international student.

School of Business student Marium Haque came to the United States from Bangladesh when the visas that her aunt applied for when she was three years old were finally granted. Once here, she supported herself by working full-time. Her first job was at Wendy's, and she discovered she loved learning about business. She enrolled in community college but after one year, applied and was accepted to Mason, where she found her community and never looked back.

Learning new software and technology in the graduate certificate program for accounting analytics has helped Allison Sanchez attain a highly sought internship and put her on the fast track to become a leading professional in her field. 

Accounting undergraduate student Natalie Nguyen continues to address the needs of others while experiencing her own personal growth during her academic journey at the School of Business.

The opportunity to study abroad with the Burgundy School is open to all Mason students, but the School of Business has a pre-articulated pathway making it easy for business majors to study abroad at the Burgundy School of Business.
